The Twelve Days of Covid

I was inspired to write the following parody by a Tweet from Darrell Harrison, responding to the news that the definition of “fully vaccinated” was changing to THREE vaccine shots:

And now with news of variant omicron, it seems to be a good time to sing… with your mask on, of course. And standing at least 6 feet from the screen. And not singing too loudly… 😉😷

On the first day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
A dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the second day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the third day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine. 

On the fourth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the fifth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the sixth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the seventh day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the eighth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Eight AstraZenicas,
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the ninth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Nine monoclonals,
Eight AstraZenicas,
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the tenth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Ten masks for wearing,

Eight AstraZenicas,
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the eleventh day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Eleven Faucis nagging,
Ten masks for wearing,
Nine monoclonals,
Eight AstraZenicas,
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

On the twelfth day of Covid, my doctor gave to me:
Twelve months of quarantine,
Eleven Faucis nagging,
Ten masks for wearing,
Nine monoclonals,
Eight AstraZenicas,
Seven rounds of boosters,
Six feet of distance,
Five Pfizer pills,
Four ivermectin,
Three J&Js,
Two Moderna shots,
And a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
