Welcome to my blog! My name is Colin D. Smith, and I am a writer and theologian who currently gets paid to do other things.
On the writing front, I have written a couple of novels and a few novellas and short stories, mostly Young Adult (a genre I fell into and have enjoyed ever since). One of these novels has actually been polished enough to the point where I am now querying agents. Hopefully one will love it as much as I do and we can work on getting it into the hands of as many readers as possible. If you want to read some of my stories, click on the “Stories” tab. If you want to read the query letter for my novel, click on the tab that says “The Novel.” I’ll keep you posted on my progress in the world of publishing, and even post more freebie stories as I have time. And if you’re curious about what other fiction projects I’m working on, click on the “WIP” tab. This will tell you about my current Work In Progress. I have other ideas for novels and short stories, but, unless you’re an agent looking to represent me, that’s as much as I’m comfortable sharing publicly at this point. Sorry!
On the theology front, I am a Christian (Reformed Baptist), and a member of Christ Presbyterian Church which, without bias on my part, is the best church in the area. I help teach Sunday School, and play piano and guitar when called upon. I have two theology degrees (B.A. and M.Div.). You can find some papers I have written on Biblical/Theological topics here.
What else could you possibly care to know? I’m an ex-pat Brit, I live in Eastern North Carolina, I am married, I have six children, and we homeschool. Oh, and I’m a huge fan of the TV show Doctor Who. If you have no idea what that is, check out the Wikipedia article.
